What Does AA Comprehensive Car Insurance Include?

The Comprehensive Car Insurance policy includes the following terms:

  • Agreed Value – The amount you agree to insure your car for upon opening the policy. This is the amount you’ll get paid if your car can’t be repaired or gets stolen
  • Damage to your own car and other people’s property – If your car is in an accident or is stolen, they will repair it or pay you the agree value to replace it. If there’s damage to someone elses car, they’ll pay up to $20 million if you’re liable for the costs.
  • Lifetime Repair Guarantee – When your car is repaired through AA, they’ll guarantee the repairs for life, even if you sell it.
  • Towing, storage and transport – If you have an accident and the car can’t be driven, AA will pay to tow your car to the nearest safe place to store, and organise transport for you and your passengers home.

Optional extras

  • Excess- Free Glass Cover – This waives the excess fee for any glass repairs if only glass repairs are needed
  • Rental Cover – Rental cover will allow you to be provided with a rental car while your car is getting repaired.

What Does the AA Third Party, Fire and Theft Policy Cover?

The Third Party, Fire and Theft Insurance Policy includes the following terms:

  • Agreed Value – The amount you agree to insure your car for upon opening the policy. This is the amount you’ll get paid if your car can’t be repaired or gets stolen
  • Cover for fire damage and theft. If you car catches fire or gets stolen, AA will pay up to your Agreed Value to repair or replace it.
  • Damage to someone else’s property. If your car has an accident with someone else’s car or property, the AA will pay up to $20 million if you’re liable for the costs
  • Uninsured accident cover – If you’re in an accident with another vehicle and that vehicle isn’t insured, the AA will pay for the repairs for your car up to $4000.

What Does the AA Third Party Insurance Cover?

The Third Party Insurance Policy includes the following terms:

  • Damage to someone else’s property. If your car has an accident with someone else’s car or property, the AA will pay up to $20 million if you’re liable for the costs
  • Uninsured accident cover – If you’re in an accident with another vehicle and that vehicle isn’t insured, the AA will pay for the repairs for your car up to $4000.

What Doesn't AA Car Insurance Cover You For?

Like most of Car Insurance Policies in New Zealand, they don’t cover you for:

  • Mechanical issues that you may face,
  • When you’re breaking the law in any way
  • If you’re using your vehicle for commercial purposes.
